During Narayan Nyamgyi's rule, Ayutthaya flourished. Trade with Western countries was commonplace and foreigners, including merchants and diplomats, were a common sight. Makoying Phutkan, the daughter of a renowned doctor who has passed, is one of the characters in this narrative. Another is Lon Trafford, a battalion commander in charge of ensuring the city's security. Robert is another key character - he’s an officer with a close connection to a French diplomat he himself recruited on behalf of the French King. The storyline takes a twist when a drowned body of a French officer is discovered wearing a canary-colored dress - a type typically worn by young ladies of the court. This unusual situation leads to disputes between France and Ayutthaya. Meanwhile, personal feelings continue to develop as Loin and Rob contemplate escaping.
