The British TV show, "Robin of Sherwood," was based on the Robin Hood legend and crafted by Richard Carpenter. It was developed by HTV and Goldcrest, and aired on ITV from 1984 to 1986. The show was renamed "Robin Hood" in the US, and it was broadcasted on Showtime and PBS. Michael Praed and Jason Connery starred as two distinct versions of the main character. The series was a unique take on the legend of Robin Hood as it integrated realistic production design with elements of actual history, twentieth-century fiction, and pagan mythology. A highlight of the show was its eerie title music by Clannad, which won a BAFTA award.
